HUGE question for you,  Have you found yourself trying everything you possibly can to do network marketing online and get more leads, but are still coming up short? Why is it that so many network marketers struggle with their online lead generation, yet there are the “gurus” that seem to do it so easily?

Transitioning From JUST Offline to Network Marketing Online – My Story

I KNOW that some of you will read that headline and think, “I thought you did a lot offline too?” I DO! That’s Why I prefaced that I used to be JUST offline, and now I’ve transitioned to the point where I do both offline and online.

It’s extremely important that you understand that no one just “becomes” a guru and all of a sudden is getting millions of leads a day (unless you’re david wood) haha. It takes time, a boat load of effort and DISCIPLINE.

I was fresh out of college with no idea how I was going to get my business off the ground and running, but I knew in my heart that there was no way in hell I wanted to work for someone else. I HATED asking permission at the jobs I had in the past and was sick and tired of all of my friends coming out of school and being mistreated because of the job market.

The following list is the amount of problems I faced when I decided to go into network marketing:

1. No Warm Market

2. No respect from the community (a young girl fresh out of school doesn’t have that much influence with people)

3. Lack of confidence

4. Lack of experience

5. No online knowledge

6. Zero support from family

the list goes on and on. This is why I will not tolerate anyone in my downline giving me excuses of why they cannot build. I did have one thing that trumps all that I was lacking when I started my business: I had a why to succeed and huge determination.

No one in their right mind would tell me I was going to fail because it didn’t phase me what so ever. So right now you’re probably thinking,

“So Jess, how the heck did you learn internet marketing and start getting leads in your first few months in the business?? that’s amazing!”

The Answer: I didn’t. I had no idea that you could even do network marketing online! So I started OFFLINE!!!! I called friends, I talked to co workers, I talked to my family (all of which told me I was crazy and said no), and guess what? I started to have success! I decided that I wasn’t holding back any more and talked to one of my coworkers immediately, she signed up! Then I decided to go after people on facebook and have since signed over 33 people from facebook that I didn’t know.

After I started signing people from good ole’ regular prospecting, (which I still think is the number one way to build a business) I found a system called My Lead System Pro which took my internet prospecting to a whole new level. I used this internet system as a TOOL, NOT as a substitute for my prospecting or an excuse not to use the phone. Any one that comes through my funnel will attest to the fact that I call all my leads and build a relationship first.

Network Marketing Online – Huge Point I’m Trying To Make:

It’s much easier to start network marketing online (blogging, articles, lead capture, MLSP) once you’ve had some success. If you want people to pay attention to your content, you need to have credibility. Sure there are a ton of people that jump online with absolutely no success what-so-ever and try to tell you how you should be running your business, but they are seriously struggling.

Offline marketing duplicates much better than network marketing online, so you need to be able to teach both from EXPERIENCE. Notice how I said I started to sign people from facebook? I was teaching my downline to do the same because even though it’s an online medium, the concept of facebook is still the same as “belly to belly” marketing. This is a relationship business and always will be!

Network Marketing Online – How to Turn Small Checks into Big Checks…

1. Be consistent. Create a piece of content at least every day, show people that you’re serious about your business and own it! Network marketing by itself could become a multi-million dollar business for you, if you throw internet marketing on top of it the possibilities are endless so treat it as a serious, million dollar business!

2. Learn from other top producers. Always be the student and never have a cup that’s too full.

3. Teach from experience. Don’t just come online for a “Hail Mary Pass” hoping that your content will sling people into your business. Offline “belly to belly” marketing is still the #1 duplicating way to build a network marketing business. The internet is a great tool, but should only be a tool. Some of your friends are miserable and need a change, what if you could have saved their house by showing them your network marketing opportunity?

4. Finally, I saw a great quote from my friend Kenneth Bristol the other day and it goes as follows:

“We Attract Who We Are, Not Who We Want.”

Be the leader you want to attract, and things will fall into place for you. 🙂
