There are over 5000 different network marketing opportunities out there all selling different products, with different compensation plans and different types of leadership. With all of these companies promoting themselves, there are still two common mistakes people make across the board that takes money out of their pocket and into the hands of someone else.

Before you read on, make sure you have an open mind and  understand that you must be honest with yourself if you want to succeed. Like I  mentioned, there are thousands of network marketing opportunities out there, and people tend to think that jumping from company to company will fix their problems and suddenly make them a ton of money. People want to change companies but they don’t want to change themselves, the only constant within each and every opportunity is the person.

If you want to get better and earn more money, you must change your behavior FIRST, not jump into different network marketing opportunities hoping to magically fix the problem!

With that being said, here are the two biggest reasons people fail at network marketing:

1. You’re Not Talking To Enough People About Your Network Marketing Opportunities:

Sounds simple right? so then why are so many people not doing it? FEAR! You’ve probably heard this a million times, but if you’re not seeing the results you want you’re simply not talking to enough people day in and day out, showing them the plan.

Mark Yarnell, a man who made over $30,000,000 in network marketing says that if you talk to 30 people a day, 5 days a week, you’ll be at $100,000 a month in 12 months, plain and simple. He didn’t say if you talk to 100 people on Monday and then three weeks later talk to 100 more people you’ll make a ton of money, he said doing 30 a day each and every day consistently will get you there.

If you want better results, talk to more people. I don’t have any other advice about this topic other than to get over your fear, study some scripts (my personal favorites is Todd Falcone’s Little Black Book of Scripts for recruiting professionals) and go out and just do it. The best way to get over your disappointments is by taking action, believe me I had to learn the hard way which is why I’m so passionate about this.

2. You’re Saying Too Much About Your Network Marketing Opportunities:

Let me illustrate what I mean by “you’re saying too much.” The first reason people fail at their network marketing opportunities is because they aren’t talking to enough people. When you start to fix this and talk to a lot of people, you don’t want to bore them with the individual bonuses of your comp plan and how your product was invented in 1885 by scientists. NO ONE CARES!

Marketing 101 Lesson: People care about how something will benefit THEM, not you, and how it will work for them and fulfill their ultimate desires in life. If you say too much  you will chase them away before they’ve even gotten a chance to see a presentation.

Go to your upline and get some simple lines to say to introduce your company, and then from there let the system handle all of the objections/questions. If you don’t have a simple system for prospects to go through and don’t have an upline available for three way calls, then I would venture to say you might not be on the right team. However, a leader would look at that situation and decide to be the ONE available for three way calls and creates a simple system. It is simply your call on  how you’d like to approach it, if you already have a system in place and your upline does do three way calls then you’re in good shape.

If you implement these two steps I guarantee you will see an improvement in your business :).
